Units in which Halifax Rifles Soldiers served during WW2

An account has yet to be written of what happened to the individuals among the six hundred
and nine other ranks and thirty-eight officers on strength of the Regiment when it was broken
up in England in August 1943 as well as those who previously had been posted to other
regiments as reinforcements. Some went to Artillery, Engineer and Signals Regiments,
Service Units, the RCAF and RAF. A few remained on staff with the Reinforcement units The
majority went to the following Armoured and Infantry Regiments and served with them in
Sicily, Italy, France and North -West Europe
